Grass Roots of South Carolina, Inc. ("scfirearms") recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by our members, users of our web sites, recipients of our e-mail newsletters, subscribers to our discussion groups, and all of our members and visitors. We created this policy with a fundamental respect for the right to privacy and to guide our relationships with our members and online visitors. This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for all services provided by GrassRoots South Carolina.

GrassRoots collects various information from our website users, and members. In this section of our privacy policy, we will describe the type of information we collect and how we use it to provide better services to our members and online visitors.

Joining, Attending, Participating
When applying for membership, attending gun shows, participating in our online message forums, using some of our websites, and using services such as online legislative contact software, members and visitors may provide information. During these events, members and visitors may be required to give their contact information such as name, postal address, and e-mail address. For internal purposes, we use this information to communicate with our members and visitors to provide requested services, and, for our website visitors, to provide a more personalized experience on our sites.

E-mail Communication from us
In order to best serve our members and visitors, we may send updates that contain important information about the activities of GrassRoots South Carolina. If website users wish to subscribe to our e-mail newsletters legislative alerts, and updates we ask for contact information such as an e-mail address. Recipients of our e-mail newsletters, alerts, and updates can unsubscribe using the instructions listed at the end of the e-mail communication.

At some of our sites, we offer interactive and community features such as discussion boards and e-mail discussion groups. Note that all personal information sent or posted via such features becomes public information for which we are not responsible.

If users reject the cookies, they may be limited in the use of some areas of our site. For example, the user may not be able to participate in the online message board.

GrassRoots has developed a policy of strict confidentiality. We will not give any information supplied by you to any third party, individual, organization, or web party. Your identifying information is strictly used to help GrassRoots communicate better with you. Only GrassRoots staff who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information; and then, only as much information as necessary to serve the member's request. Finally, the servers and computers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Our web sites contain links to other sites. GrassRoots South Carolina is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each web site to which we may link that may collect personally identifiable information.
